Flowering Trees

We bought this tree at a fundraising auction two years ago. Last year it flowered out beautifully, then caterpillars devoured every leaf of the tree and we thought it was a goner. Than a few weeks later all the leaves grew back. Here it is in all its glory in mid May.

Maple Buds

The silver maple trees are enjoyed the warm weather of the weekend and started to send out little “feelers”. Most of the growth will slow down today with the nice April snow we received.

We’ve planted a number of spruce trees around the property over the years, and some are almost waist high. The buds at the top of this one are pretty much ready to burst into growth any time now.  A little more sun and a little more warmth and we should see some green.
