Wagons Ho!

We’ve been known to occasionally complain about the amount of traffic on our road. This year we’ve taken a different approach and decided to put the wagon out with some of our sunflowers on it and try to slow down the odd speeder who might be looking for some flowers. The price is right $5 for a 1/2 dozen, and they are about as fresh as you can get them. Once the zinnias start coming on we’ll add a couple mixed coloured bouqets of those as well. We plan to have the wagon out 6 days a week from morning until night. For those interested in the drive out, we’re located on the Canborough Road between Wellandport and Attercliffe in Southern Ontario, Canada. You’ll see the wagon.

Sunflowers Finally

We had an extremely cold June/July and that directly affected how fast the sunflowers grew and matured, but finally they have started to bloom. This is always a great time of year as it fills our market van and our market booth with tons of colour.

Lily Almost

There are lilies throughout the farm wherever Jen has found the desire to plant them. She knows better than I which colour is going to jump out when they go from bud to bloom. My guess for these is yellow, but I’ll probably be incorrect.

Zinnia Plugs

It’s about time we start to post pictures of things actually growing. Here you see some newly planted zinnia plugs straight from the greenhouse into the dirt. It will take a bit for them to “catch” but once the roots get down good and we get some hot weather they’ll soon fill the bed with greenery and flowers.
