Even though most of the snow has melted we still have significant run off in our small creek. The fields are saturated with water right now, so any bit of rain goes directly into the ditches, creeks, and eventually river.

Transplanting is in full swing. We pull the baby plants from their plugs and put them into larger plug sheets or pots. This will be their last artificial home for the next few weeks and then they’ll go right into the ground.

Sometimes a whole bunch of plants grow in one spot and we have a discussion about whether they are weeds (probably) or a reseeded flower from last year. Usually it only takes two to three weeks before they reveal their true identity. Then it’s either the hoe or the watering can depending on the outcome.
